East Bay Bike Path Mural, 19′ x 5′, 2010
Cafeteria of Bradley Hospital, East Providence, Rhode Island
by Charles C. Clear III and Bonnie Lee Turner

This East Bay Bike Path Mural was painted in the Staff Cafeteria of Bradley Hospital in East Providence, Rhode Island. The Mural features the East Bay Bike Path, parts of which are also in East Providence, Rhode Island. If you’re not familiar with it, this Bike Path runs about 15 miles from miles from India Point Park in Providence to Independence Park in Bristol, passing many state and local parks and recreation areas. It’s a gorgeous, well maintained bike path with many scenic views of the Providence River as it winds its way towards Narragansett Bay.

In our mural we have a view of the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse on the right. In the center of the Mural a boy with a beaming smile and a bright yellow shirt. He is riding his bike past the Bradley Hospital therapy dogs. There are rhododendrons framing the scene to the left and wild sea roses just right of center. The wooden fence and the winding path draw the viewers eye deep into the Bike Path Mural. In the distance a tree with white blossoms rests beneath a soft blue sky.

This East Bay Bike Path Mural was the first of many murals that we painted for Bradley Hospital. The second scenic mural that we painted at Bradley was our Columns and Arches Wall Mural, which was followed by a large Mural of Beavertail State Park in an Outpatient Treatment Room. After that there were two more Murals in various parts of their Cafeteria – including a pair of Porthole Murals!
